PEACEMOTHER.ORG emerged from the hearts of two moms living in Hawaii immediately after 9-11. We yearned for simple, effective, hands-on ways to teach our children the power of peace in the face of impending wars. For three years, we undertook a wide variety of projects in our own kitchens, living rooms and backyards. In doing so, we received warm, embracing notes of support from mothers living in nearly every continent on Earth.
Our website is no longer active, nor do we accept email. Our kids grew up; our families moved on. But we have preserved this digital archive for mothers and children everywhere, hoping that they'll gain insight and inspiration from our ideas and success.
These are small, humble actions. But each of them holds a world of hope.
